The Edinburgh Levy  
The Visitor Levy (Scotland) Act  introduced a tax on paid overnight accommodation in Edinburgh for stays on or after 24 July 2026.
"Edinburgh Visitor Levy Scheme" has been set at a rate of 5%, which is applicable for a maximum of 5 consecutive nights of a stay.
For bookings of 5 nights or less, the tax applies to all nights of the stay.
For stays longer than 5 nights, the tax applies only to the first 5 nights.
This tax is collected by your accommodation provider and redistributed to the Edinburgh Council by ourselves.
