"Welcome back" "I'm home" Even if we're far apart, we can still have a connection like neighbors. In an age where relationships between neighbors have become weak, why not try a new style of interacting with your neighbors? When you experience farming at the inn, you can meet your neighbors working on the farm. Let's talk to people in the area. When you come back to this place, say ""I'm home"" and ""Welcome back."" The conversation will flow naturally. May this place become your second home. Tokamachi, Niigata Prefecture. It is the area with the heaviest snowfall in Japan, and is also the birthplace of Japan's best rice, ""Uonuma Koshihikari."" We hope that by touching the soil through rice, people will be able to get a sense of the lives of the people who live in Tokamachi and become connected to the community. With this in mind, we named this inn KOME HOME. KOMEHOME is a 70-year-old traditional Japanese house located in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, the home of the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale. Enjoy the open nature and BBQ and fireworks in the garden. Pets are welcome! (Separate pet accommodation fee applies.) Echigo Yuzawa and Naeba are also just a 40-minute drive away. There is also a kitchen, washing machine, and bathroom, making it a very convenient environment for families and friends wishing to stay for a long period of time. From the second floor you can see the rice fields, and the breeze from the Shinano River is soothing to the soul. ▼Area information Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan It is located a little away from the city center, so you can enjoy a quiet stay. Accommodation limited to 1 group per day This is a private house where you can experience old life in an traditional house. You can spend a relaxing time with the sea right in front of you. Kumano Kodo Miki Pass, Hago Pass and Hobo pass are nearby. Walking along the seaside in front of the rising sun is a wonderful experience. At night, you can see many stars. In the summer, the Milky Way is spectacular. This is a town known for its delicious sashimi. You can also find delicious sashimi at supermarkets in Owase. This is a purely Japanese-style house built 76 years ago. It has a gabled roof, a traditional roof shape in Japanese architecture that is often seen in castles, shrines, and temples, and much of the woodwork from that time still remains inside the house. And the magnificent Shinto altar is truly a sight to behold. No major renovations have been made, so you can experience traditional Japanese life, but it is by no means a convenient life. There are many stairs inside the house, and the toilet and bathroom are located in the covered exterior area(There is a roof.) Despite these inconveniences, We would be happy if you could feel the comfort of this inconvenient lifestyle that still exists today as well as in the past. There are two bedrooms. There is a kitchen where you can prepare general meals. There are no supermarkets or restaurants nearby, so we recommend that you do your shopping in advance. The toilets are simple flush toilets (renovated in 2024). There is a parking lot just a minute's walk away. Since it's a rural town, it's convenient to have a car. If you want to walk the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route lightly, you can park your car at each station, so you can take the train there and walk back, and walk along the various Kumano Kodo trails to your heart's content. A one-hour drive south you can visit Nachi Falls, Kumano Taisha Shrine, and various hot springs. To the north is Ise Jingu Shrine. ■Recommended Activities■ [Kumano Kodo Hiking] 1. Hike Miki Pass and Yakiyama from home to Owase, then take a dip in the deep-sea water bathhouse at Yume Kodo and do some shopping in Owase City. Then, take the bus (27 minutes) back home. The bus stop is Minamifurue, a 1-minute walk from home. If you have a car, you can park at Mikisato Station and return by train from Owase Station. 2. Hike Hobo Pass, Nigishima Pass, and Okamizaka Pass from home, then take the train (9 minutes) from Atashika Station back to Kata Station. From Kata Station, it's a 25-minute walk to home. If you have a car, you can park at Kata Station. For shorter hikes, you can also return from Nigishima Station. Because this is a rural area, trains are infrequent, so it's a good idea to take the train to Atashika Station first and hike back. 3.
