Accommodation limited to 1 group per day This is a private house where you can experience old life in an traditional house. You can spend a relaxing time with the sea right in front of you. Kumano Kodo Miki Pass, Hago Pass and Hobo pass are nearby. Walking along the seaside in front of the rising sun is a wonderful experience. At night, you can see many stars. In the summer, the Milky Way is spectacular. This is a town known for its delicious sashimi. You can also find delicious sashimi at supermarkets in Owase. This is a purely Japanese-style house built 76 years ago. It has a gabled roof, a traditional roof shape in Japanese architecture that is often seen in castles, shrines, and temples, and much of the woodwork from that time still remains inside the house. And the magnificent Shinto altar is truly a sight to behold. No major renovations have been made, so you can experience traditional Japanese life, but it is by no means a convenient life. There are many stairs inside the house, and the toilet and bathroom are located in the covered exterior area(There is a roof.) Despite these inconveniences, We would be happy if you could feel the comfort of this inconvenient lifestyle that still exists today as well as in the past. There are two bedrooms. There is a kitchen where you can prepare general meals. There are no supermarkets or restaurants nearby, so we recommend that you do your shopping in advance. The toilets are simple flush toilets (renovated in 2024). There is a parking lot just a minute's walk away. Since it's a rural town, it's convenient to have a car. If you want to walk the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route lightly, you can park your car at each station, so you can take the train there and walk back, and walk along the various Kumano Kodo trails to your heart's content. A one-hour drive south you can visit Nachi Falls, Kumano Taisha Shrine, and various hot springs. To the north is Ise Jingu Shrine. ■Recommended Activities■ [Kumano Kodo Hiking] 1. Hike Miki Pass and Yakiyama from home to Owase, then take a dip in the deep-sea water bathhouse at Yume Kodo and do some shopping in Owase City. Then, take the bus (27 minutes) back home. The bus stop is Minamifurue, a 1-minute walk from home. If you have a car, you can park at Mikisato Station and return by train from Owase Station. 2. Hike Hobo Pass, Nigishima Pass, and Okamizaka Pass from home, then take the train (9 minutes) from Atashika Station back to Kata Station. From Kata Station, it's a 25-minute walk to home. If you have a car, you can park at Kata Station. For shorter hikes, you can also return from Nigishima Station. Because this is a rural area, trains are infrequent, so it's a good idea to take the train to Atashika Station first and hike back. 3. Hike Matsumoto pass ,from home walk 25 minutes to Kata Station, take the train (16 minutes) to Odomari Station, hike Matsumoto Pass, and then take the train from Kumanoshi Station to Kata Station. If you have a car, you can park at Odomari Station. 4. Hike Magome pass from home drive 25 minutes to the Magome Pass North Entrance Parking Lot, hike Magome Pass, head to Owase, take a bus from Owase back to the parking lot, and drive back home. A little further along is the exceptionally clear Choshi River, so we recommend taking a short drive there. ★If you need luggage delivery while walking the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage routes, please contact us. We can arrange luggage delivery for a fee depending on the distance. [Stunning views of the Ohai Blue, a phenomenon created by the ocean off Owase] From home, drive (20 minutes) to Kuki, park at the Kuki Community Center, and hike to Ojai, a 1.5-hour hike one way, to see the beautiful Ohai Blue. We recommend leaving in the morning, as it's more beautiful in the morning. ■Recommended Sightseeing Spots by Car■ - Ise Grand Shrine (Ise Jingu) – about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car - Maruyama Senmaida – beautiful terraced rice fields, about 1 hour by car - Yunokuchi Onsen – Mie Prefecture’s most popular free-flowing hot spring, about 50 minutes by car - Hana-no-Iwaya Shrine (World Heritage Site)– the oldest shrine in Japan, about 20 minutes by car - Shichiri-Mihama Coast(World Heritage Site) – a beautiful 20 km long coastline, perfect for a scenic drive - Hana-no-Iwaya Shrine (World Heritage Site) – about 15 minutes by car - Shishi-iwa (World Heritage Site) – about 15 minutes by car - Doro Gorge – about 1 hour by car - Nachi Falls & Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine(World Heritage Site) – historic and sacred sites surrounded by nature - Nachikatsuura – famous for fresh tuna; a great place to enjoy lunch - Kii-no-Matsushima Cruise (Nachikatsuura)– a scenic cruise on the Pacific Ocean with dynamic coastal views - Hamayu Public Bath (Nachikatsuura) – a very old free-flowing onsen, about 1 hour by car, where you can experience the atmosphere of traditional Japan ■Beautiful Beaches■ 1.
