Easy access from E47/E20 highway and Route 151 to Copenhagen - 38 minutes away by car and train, and by 2018 just 20 minutes by light train. Koege is flourishing as the city is a popular home town for pendlers. Several citizens use bicycles to go to work in Copenhagen.

The nearby Marina has a popular beach and harbor with jetties, shops and restaurants. The central square with 14th-15th century buildings often hosts musical and sports events and bicycle races. There are many upcountry bicycle routes - including Berlin-Copenhagen. The ferry to Bornholm also sets out from Koege Harbor. The new high-speed train launched in May 2019 at Køge Nord brings you to Copenhagen in less than 30 minutes.
