It is the area with the heaviest snowfall in Japan, and is also the birthplace of Japan's best rice, ""Uonuma Koshihikari."" We hope that by touching the soil through rice, people will be able to get a sense of the lives of the people who live in Tokamachi and become connected to the community. With this in mind, we named this inn KOME HOME. KOMEHOME is a 70-year-old traditional Japanese house located in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, the home of the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale. This is a traditional Japanese house with an irori hearth that has been renovated from an old house that is over 70 years old. The room can accommodate up to 8 people and the entire house is spacious and comfortable. We only accept one group per day, so you will not be surrounded by other guests, making it a comfortable stay even for those with small children. There is also a kitchen, washing machine, and bathroom, making it a very convenient environment for families and friends wishing to stay for a long period of time. Guests especially appreciate the harmonious blend of traditional Japanese architecture with modern interior design. Two bedrooms are available: one Japanese-style and one Western-style. The 12.5-tatami living room includes a wood-burning fireplace and a large couch sofa. Free Wi-Fi is available. The dining room features 100-year-old antique furniture from England, offering a unique fusion of Japanese and Western styles. The adjacent 10.5-tatami Japanese room features a tokonoma alcove, built-in shelves, and traditional shoin-style design. Up to six futons can be laid out at night. The Western-style bedroom features tatami flooring, plaster walls, shoji screens, and washi paper lighting, creating a calming Japanese-modern atmosphere.
