Although it is located in Lisbon's most typical and lively neighborhood notorious for its small hiden streets and charming but tiring stairs ;), the appartement has the priviledge to be easy to access, it is located in the bottom and best part of Alfama, right off the sea and near the newly redesigned dock area of Santa Apolonia (fantastic for dinner or late drinks). It is on the 5th floor of a building equipped with lift (very rare in this area) and offers park to space in the nearby Pantheon area. 

 
Alfama is the oldest district of Lisbon, spreading on the slope between the São Jorge Castle and the Tejo river. Its name comes from the Arabic Al-hamma, meaning fountains or baths. It includes the freguesias (parishes) of São Miguel, Santo Estêvão, São Vicente de Fora and part of two streets of Freguesia da Sé: Rua do Barão and Rua São João da Praça. It contains many important historical attractions, with many Fado bars and restaurants.  The great 1755 Lisbon Earthquake did not destroy the Alfama, which has remained a picturesque labyrinth of narrow streets and small squares. Lately, the neighbourhood has been invigorated with the renovation of the old houses and new restaurants where Fado—Portuguese typical melancholy music—can be enjoyed.

It has a reversible heat/AC that makes it perfectly comfortable all year round. A unique nest to rest after a day of visits and enjoy the sunset. The Balcony is the perfect spot to relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the views.

Although it is located in Lisbon's most typical and lively neighborhood notorious for its small hidden streets and charming but tiring stairs ;), the apartment has the privilege to be easy to access, at the best part of Alfama, right off the sea and near the newly redesigned dock area of Santa Apolonia (fantastic for dinner or late drinks). It is on the 5th floor of a building equipped with lift (very rare in this area- lift only goes to the 4th floor), onstreet paid parking near the National Pantheon, just a few meters away.
Train and metro station of Santa Apolonia is 3 min walk. But Lisbon is small and you can walk to its major points of attraction from the apartment, including the Fado Museum, nice trendy restaurants, st Jorge Castle and Praça do Comercio, etc.

The building next door is under construction and you might experience some noise during working hours.

Please note that this apartment is in the heart of Alfama. During the month of JUNE Lisbon celebrates with daily street parties in Alfama. These last most of the night and the streets are filled with stalls selling Grilled Sardines, Sangria, Wine & Beer. If you like a good street party you could not be in a better location. If you are looking for a quite holiday this is not the place to stay during the month of June.
